Intake Manifold

The first step for servicing the upper intake manifold is to maintain a clean environment to avoid allowing foreign materials into oil or coolant paths because this might result in engine failure. Beginning the task involves removing both the cowl and the air cleaner outlet tube. After disconnecting the accelerator and speed control cables you should move the bracket to the side. The service requires disconnecting the electronic connections for idle air control (IAC) valve and throttle position (TP) sensor before detached connection of evaporative emissions return tube. Pull off the fuel tube retaining clip with wire harness pin-type retainers to separate the brake booster vacuum hose. The technician should disconnect electrical wires along with vacuum components from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) vacuum regulator solenoid and its connected vacuum hose and fuel pressure regulator vacuum tube. It is necessary to disconnect both vacuum and electrical links that service differential pressure feedback EGR and its PCV hose. Spark plug wires must be relocated out of the way before you remove both the upper intake manifold and its upper intake manifold spacer. Ensemble the replacement process by following the designated sequences while tightening both components first the upper intake manifold spacer and then the upper intake manifold.

Position the ignition coil aside, disconnect its connector, and the three spark plug wires before removing the bolts.

Install the fuel supply manifold, the upper intake manifold, and fill and bleed the cooling system.

Install the intake manifold gaskets and ensure the lower intake manifold is positioned within four minutes of applying sealant.

Disconnect the accelerator and speed control cables, followed by the throttle return spring, and position the bracket aside after removing its bolt and stud bolt.
