Service operations on the transmission support crossmember start by positioning a hoisted vehicle into NEUTRAL mode. Start the process by taking off the two transmission mount nuts from the transmission support crossmember then discard them. The crossmember nuts need to be tightened to 90 Nm during reinstallation. A proper jack should be used to sustain the transmission when servicing it because free suspension is dangerous. The procedure for removing and installing the transmission support crossmember starts by removing its two opposing horizontal bolts and nuts then tightening the new ones to 127 Nm (94 lb-ft) torque. First remove the four vertical bolts together with nuts situated on each side then install new fasteners before securing them at 99 Nm (73 lb-ft) torque. The transmission support crossmember needs removal before installing it back in position using the inverse steps of removal.

Begin crossmember service and repair operations on the transmission support after securing the vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. First remove the two transmission mount nuts from the transmission support crossmember while using an appropriate jack to prevent transmission movement after you tighten the new bolts on the transmission to 99 Nm (73 lb-ft). The 4x4 version of the transmission support crossmember requires removing its six bolts and nuts (three bolts on each side), then tighten the new bolts to 99 Nm (73 lb-ft) torque specification. Reinstall the transmission support crossmember by carrying out the reverse steps of its removal while tightening the transmission mount nuts to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
