When servicing the passenger air bag module of a Taurus X always direct the air bag module away from your body through its deployment door and trim cover and tear seam to avoid severe injuries in case of accidental deployment. The electrical connectors connected to air bag and Safety Canopy® and side air curtain modules should never be probed because accidental deployment may cause deadly injuries. Testing the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) requires using the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse to turn on the air bag warning indicator while checking for all system functions to be fault-free before returning the vehicle to customers. Begin by depowering the SRS. Lower the glove compartment access to disconnect the two electrical module connectors from the passenger air bag unit along with removing the pair of bolts while tightening them to 9 Nm (80 lb-in). To access the clips you should push on the canister then extract the passenger air bag module before reversing the process for assembly. The service ends with repowering the SRS.

It indicates that the restraints control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON, which is normal and does not indicate an SRS fault.

Inspect the roofline for damage and rework as necessary.
