Wiper Motor

Idea service starts with putting the wiper motor into OFF position while the wiper pivot arms rest at the windshield peak before disconnecting the battery ground cable. The service begins by removing pivot arms from the windshield wiper assembly and then engaging the hood for support. The cowl top needs its vent grille removed by taking out five central retainers with screws and two external retainers with washers and screws. Lift off the clip from the windshield wiper mounting arm while simultaneously sliding the arm and shift off the motor. To carry out the wiper motor service you must disconnect the electric connector then take out the bolts that maintain the motor for complete removal. Before reinstallation of the mounting arm and pivot shaft begin by positioning the wiper motor into its park position. Then execute the reverse order of removal steps. Readjust the windshield wiper pivot arms and the wiper blades when necessary. The vehicle needs to drive at least 16 km (10 mi) to regain normal driving behavior after the battery disconnect by reestablishing its adaptive strategies.

Reverse the removal steps, adjusting the windshield wiper pivot arms and wiper blades as necessary.

Lift the clip off the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft, then slide the mounting arm and pivot shaft off the wiper motor.

Ensure the windshield wiper motor is in the park position.
