The first step for servicing the engine oil dip stick and dip stick tube requires the vehicle to be placed in NEUTRAL position on a hoist. First dismantle the LH exhaust manifold followed by the bolt fixing the oil level indicator tube. Follow the installation by tightening the bolt up to 10 Nm which corresponds to 89 inch lbs. Proper leaks prevention requires clean engine oil to lubricate the O-ring seal alongside the mating surface of the oil level indicator tube and engine block. The installation requires maintenance of the O-ring seal position until you properly dispose of the existing O-ring seal. The last step requires new lubricated engine oil for the O-ring seal followed by the return of all components to their original position.

You should place the vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist before starting to service the engine oil dip stick and dip stick tube. Start with ending the drainage hose at the manifold then proceed by removing the bolt fastening the dipstick tube. It is essential during reinstallation to tighten the bolt at 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). For leak prevention one must apply engine oil to both the O-ring seal and the mating area between the oil level indicator tube and engine block. Determine if the O-ring seal stays in position properly and does not form wrinkles or roll during installation of the indicator tube. Before reinstalling the O-ring seal the old unit should be discarded then follow up with cleaning the new seal and mating surface of the engine with engine oil before finishing the procedure.
