Service of the front seat cushion for the 40 percent and captain's chair starts with disassembly of the captain's chair followed by unfastening its J-clips on the front seat cushion cover. The process of separating seat cushion trim from hook and loop should be done carefully to prevent ripping the foam. To access the hog rings and hook and loop strip from the inside of the trim cover people must invert it first. Next they must remove the trim cover and hog rings separately. The next step involves removing the pin-type retainer from the front seat cushion foam before taking out the foam substance from the front seat cushion frame. To build the front seat cushion frame put the foam inside the frame followed by pin-type retainer installation. Position the trim cover then fasten the hog rings before securing the J-clips according to proper alignment. Finally, reassemble the captain's chair.

Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute to deplete the backup power supply, ensuring that any auxiliary batteries are also disconnected.
