Service operations on the floor console begin with setting the gear shift lever in NEUTRAL position. Climb to each bolt's position by raising the seats until exposed and pull forward the seats to unfasten the rear bolts which need tightening to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) during assembly. After raising the seats you need to remove the 2 console side panels while keeping seats in the full-rear position to gain access to 2 side panels and 2 center bolts before tightening them to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) during reinstallation. To remove both the console finish panel and storage bin from MKX models you must extract the 2 scrivets and disconnect the power point electrical connector. The installation process requires removal of 2 front side console bolts which should be fastened at 6 Nm (53 lb-in) torque for reattachment. First tighten the 2 console-to-instrument panel bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) before the installation process. The installation requires removal of the floor console by disconnecting its electrical connector from the lower right front wiring harness. The reverse steps from the removal procedure must be followed to reinstall the finished part.
