To work with the floor console in every model start by putting the seats forward and removing the back bolts before pushing the seats toward the back. If you have a parking brake handle take it to its complete upward position. When dealing with automatic transmissions for Fusion and Milan models you must first remove the floor finish panel trim ring. Every vehicle requires removal of the manual shifter if present before opening storage compartment door and floor console finish panel. Unplug all electric connections and for Fusion and Milan models also delete the storage tray to disconnect its electrical and audio jack components. Unscrew the bolt covers before you take out the two bolts. On MKZ vehicles separate the two console side finish panels while pulling out two console-to-instrument panel bolts from each side. End by removing all four existing floor console bolts before replacing the assembly through the steps backward.
