Before starting floor console maintenance work begin by setting the parking brake followed by moving the selector lever into NEUTRAL position. Set the front seats to their maximum rear and downwards position. You should detach the LH and RH floor console lower trim panels by pulling the middle and rear sections away from the retainers after placing cardboard between the panels and floor console to avoid any damage. Take off the LH and RH lower trim panels at the same time with the attached cardboard until they break free from pin-type retainers by pushing the panels in the front direction. First push forward the front seats and eliminate the 2 floor console rear bolts until moving back those seats lets access the 2 push-pin retainers and 4 floor console bolts for removal. Use the storage compartment lid to raise the floor console finish mouldings from both sides by disconnecting their securing clips. A non-marring tool should be used to pry upward the floor console finish panel until all its clips become loose. Following this step you can remove the cup holder after taking out its 4 securing screws. The bezel of the selector lever knob requires cardboard protection to avoid damage during detachment when using a non-marring tool to pry it downward. The selector lever knob removal requires rotating its 2 screws before gently pulling the selector lever trim panel backward to free its clips. Gently pull out the trim panel after unplugging all electrical connectors from it. You need to remove the six HVAC module screws and HVAC module from vehicles without navigation before disconnecting its electrical connectors. The floor console front finish panel of vehicles with navigation requires removal of 4 screws before panel extraction and subsequent removal of 2 HVAC module screws followed by disconnecting its electrical connectors. The wire harness pin-type retainer must be detached from the floor console so the floor console bulkhead connector can be disconnected. To remove the floor console first detach the selector lever cable then free its retaining tabs before lifting the selector lever up. To remove the floor console grip it from the back then pull it toward yourself to free its retaining clips from the instrument panel. Simultaneously replace the floor console by repeating this method but always verify that the retaining clips sit correctly.
