Seat Cushion Pad, Rear Driver Side

The servicing of the 40 percent rear seat cushion in the second row begins with removing the 40 percent rear seat along with the rear seat backrest. Set the backrest to pivot up by positioning the inboard latch foot in its latched setting. Under the seat locate the cushion trim cover J-clip before releasing it from underneath the space between the cushion foam pad and cushion frame where you can release the J-clip attached to the cushion frame. First you must draw out the cushion trim cover retainers from between the riser/seat track and the cushion frame and afterward take off the cushion foam pan and cushion trim cover. Then work to release two screws that will detach the riser/seat track outboard inner cover while three screws must come off to remove the outboard outer cover. During disassembly start by unscrewing the handle of the recliner before unfastening the recliner outer cover by removing two screws which must have the release strap passing through the cover socket when reinstalling. Use caution when working with the spring-loaded recliner mechanism while you should separate the pin-type retainer from the locator tabs and then disconnect the recliner inner cover. Record the cord placement for future installation before taking the two cables from the recliner and leading them outside of the seat cushion framework. Secure the recliner using two bolts tightened at 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) before installation. The six cushion frame-to-riser/seat track nuts should be removed before taking off the riser/seat track assembly which needs to be tightened to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) during reinstallation. Fasten the safety belt buckle bolt with a torque of 37 Nm (27 lb-ft) when reinstalling. The screw along with inboard pivot cover needs removal first then the pivot grommet and afterward two screws must be removed to detach the riser inboard inner cover followed by the riser inboard outer cover requiring three screws for removal. After detaching the cushion trim cover from the cushion foam pad users should reassemble by performing the opposite disassembly steps.

Release the cushion trim cover J-clip located under the seat.

Remove the two bolts and tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) upon installation.

Separate the pivot release cable and casing from the cushion pivot release lever and bracket, then remove the cable.
