A proper service of the windshield washer reservoir begins by disconnecting the battery then removing the right front wheel. The right front splash shield needs to be positioned aside before removing screws from the right front corner lamp followed by the removal of two bolts which enables movement of the degas bottle. Scrape out the windshield washer solution from the reservior into a suitable container after disconnecting pipes that carry washer solution because the content contains poisonous methanol. Afterward, disconnect electrical connectors of washer motor pump assembly. After removing the windshield washer reservoir bolts you should take out the reservoir by tightening bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) when re-installing. An electrical connection installation must only proceed after filling the windshield washer reservoir and connecting hoses to the reservoir while following the traditional disassembly steps in reverse order. Operation of the washer motor pump must wait until filling the reservoir.
