A proper service and repair of the windshield washer pump and reservoir requires first disconnecting both the washer pump and washer fluid level sensors. The windshield washer reservoir needs draining before removal because it will reduce the chances of fluid spills. First remove the A/C line bracket followed by washer pump hoses then remove the A/C line retainer together with windshield washer hose before taking off the rear window washer hose when present. The windshield washer reservoir needs three retaining bolts removed while you should tighten these bolts to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) during reassembly. Be careful around the windshield washer solution which has dangerous methanol inside; read all safety labels from the solution container. Anyone should avoid operating the windshield washer pump until they fill up the reservoir. Follow the removal steps backwards to complete the installation while also adding windshield washer solution into the reservoir.

Service the windshield washer reservoir by first removing both degas bottle bolts and placing the bottle aside before reattaching the bolts at 9Nm (80lb-in). The next step requires both the disconnecting of the washer fluid level sensor electrical connection and the A/C line bracket removal. The three bolts on the windshield washer reservoir need to be removed before installation but require 5 Nm (44 lb-in) torque reaction when you reinstall them. All safety measures listed on the container label for windshield washer solution matter because methanol in the solution is poisonous. Operation of the windshield washer pump should be avoided before reservoir filling takes place. Drainage of the reservoir fluid needs to occur before hardware removal. Enabling success mandates the removal of window washer hoses starting with the ones at the front and rear position with subsequent separation of the window washer pump electrical connector. The process of installation ends following the opposite removal sequence and refill of the windshield washer solution tank.
