Starting the service and repair process requires first removing the anchor plate thread-damaged bolt. The lap/shoulder seat belts come as original equipment from the factory so each removal requires returning them to their original position. Start the 7/16 x 20 Torx® head anchor bolts manually and tighten them to 34-46 N.m (26-33 Lb-Ft). The seat belt anchor plate needs a 27/64 inch drill for drilling its internal threads before a 1/2-13 tap threads the anchor plate and blow-out removal of any remaining chips. Use new hardware when installing the components in series then torque the bolt to 34-46 N.m (23-33 Lb-Ft) while starting with hand-tightening. You must show the anchor point that requires replacement of weld nut or reinforcement. The seat belt anchor points found in the B or C pillars should be replaced with new reinforcement parts if their nuts become stripped or disappear. Insert two access holes of 8 mm (5/16 inch) diameter next to the weld nut clearance hole before passing length of copper welding wire through the clearance hole to join weld nut with washer. Thoroughly secure the 7/16 inch weld nut and standard washer using a MIG wire feed welder by placing them at the two 8mm (5/16 inch) holes before finishing the metal properly. The completion of the system requires restraint system installation followed by a functional test.

Inspect the safety belt attaching areas for damage and distortion; if the attaching points are damaged, restore the sheet metal to its original shape and structural integrity.

Repeat the rotation and folding process to remove any twist.
