Crankshaft Position Sensor

Vehicle servicing of the Crankshaft Position Sensor begins by raising it properly while switching off the air suspension switch in right-hand kick panels to stop air spring changes that would shift vehicle position. The service of the Crankshaft Position sensor (CKP sensor) requires removal of the engine control sensor wiring followed by unscrewing its mounting bolt and extracting the sensor. The installation process should start by following the removal steps backward.

The first step requires that technicians height and sustain a vehicle and disable air suspension electrical power at the right-hand kick panel area air suspension switch to avoid air spring sudden pressure or vacuum variations which could move the vehicle before service completion. Start by detaching the engine control sensor wires from the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP sensor). Proceed with removing the bolt that fastens the CKP sensor to remove the sensor from its position. To install the component follow the steps in reverse order of removal.
