Servicing the rear suspension shock absorber requires strict avoidance of heat and flame application to both shock absorber units and strut tubes because gas pressurization makes them dangerous to explosions which could harm people seriously. The performance of essential systems depends heavily on suspension fasteners because their breakdown leads to considerable servicing expenses. All new components must have the same part number as original with a direct equivalent that is superior to any lower quality or substitute design. New system performance depends on following torque specification values during reinstallation procedures. Start by shifting the vehicle into NEUTRAL gear position before hoisting it and then using a suitable jack to maintain the rear axle stability. During the procedure replace and discard the shock absorber lower bolt and nut while tightening the newly installed bolt to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft). The shock absorber removal requires discarding the upper nut as the first step before you pull out the shock absorber. You must first tighten the new upper nut to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft) before finishing the installation using the opposite steps of removal.
