A suitable coil spring compressor permits safer spring compression for disassembly of the strut and spring assembly. First untighten the thrust bearing nut before removing the top mount together with thrust bearing and spring seat and spring and boot and bump stop. To construct the spring the ends should pull against the spring seats properly then proceed with the reverse disassembly sequence until the process is finished.
