    Q:
How to service the 8-way power seat switch on Lincoln Navigator? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step when servicing the 8-way power seat switch requires safety clothing because of the safety belt pretensioner's pyrotechnic nature together with the safety glasses. The SRS supplement should be turned off when a seat includes either side air bags or pretensioning safety belts. The RCM fuse removal causes the air bag warning lamp to illuminate when the ignition switch is ON but this operation indicates a normal condition without any system defects. Start by removing the affected seat followed by prying off both power seat knobs from their locations. The front side shield screw needs removal while pulling the side shield from bottom and rear to free the three retainer clips. The disconnection of power lumbar switch along with 8-way power seat switch connectors requires following by three screw removal which lets you extract the power seat switch. The new power seat switch needs to be placed correctly after which three screws must be used for attachment. Place the three side shield retainers onto the seat frame following 8-way power seat and power lumbar switch electrical connector reconnection. After reinstalling the front side shield screw you should attach the two power seat knobs before putting back the affected seat and repowering the SRS. You should entirely test the SRS system for complete functionality and no defects before delivering the vehicle back to the customer.
