Throttle Cable

Start the accelerator pedal service process by first removing the accelerator cable from the throttle lever and then unclipping the cable separator. After separating the accelerator cable fitting from the bracket you must take off the cable from its clip on the left shock tower and housing before routing it correctly upon reinstalling. To proceed further disconnect the accelerator cable from the dash panel by depressing accelerator lock tabs first. Guide the accelerator cable into the engine area through the opening until complete removal. The installation process should be done in the opposite order of removal steps.

The procedure to service and fix throttle cable and linkage requires removal of the accelerator cable from the throttle lever. The service begins with cable separator clip removal and acceleration cable fitting detachment from the accelerator cable bracket and the separation of the accelerator cable from its clip on the left-hand shock tower and air cleaner housing. Properly routing the cable into its clips should occur as a part of the reassembly process. The next step requires eliminating pressure from the pedal through releasing the accelerator lock tabs to disengage the accelerator cable from the dashboard panel. Push the complete accelerator cable into the engine compartment before removal. Follow the reverse order of steps already performed to reinstall the component.
