    The service and repair of the throttle cable and linkage begins with removing the accelerator cable from both its connections at the throttle body lever and accelerator cable bracket using a suitable trim tool. Access the fitting lock and turn it 90 degrees counterclockwise before pulling the cable up to remove it from the bracket. Disconnection of the accelerator cable requires removal of the retaining clip followed by removing the hush panel using a nut and disassembling its pin-type retainers before lamp disconnect. Follow hush panel removal by unfastening the accelerator cable bolts before cutting it loose while maintaining the core wire free from damage. Perform the installation in the exact reverse order of removal steps. Before reuse of the accelerator cable it is necessary to check the locking tabs on the cable end ball stud fitting and replacement is needed if the fitting shows signs of damage or breakage. Before installing the accelerator cable assembly you must connect the two separate parts which fit together.
