    Q:
How to Service and Repair the A/C Hose for Liquid and Auxiliary Refrigeration Lines on Ford E-150 Econoline? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair of the A/C liquid hose/line and auxiliary A/C refrigeration line starts by disconnecting the condenser to evaporator tube as well as the suction accumulator/drier spring lock coupling. Prior to disconnecting the compressor suction line you should apply a wrench to both fittings to stop possible damage. First unscrew the screws to detach the four clamps for line removal. The vehicle service requires elevation to disconnect the underbody tube spring lock coupling following which manual lowering is necessary to remove the auxiliary A/C refrigeration line. The installation process requires service to the new auxiliary A/C refrigeration line containing PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent that matches Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. After routing the auxiliary A/C refrigeration line you must raise and support the vehicle to connect the underbody tube spring lock coupling. Put the vehicle into its lowered position to join the suction line while applying PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil to new O-ring seals before assembling them. A wrench positioned on both sides of the fitting should be used to avoid damage. Proceed with spring lock coupling connections between the suction accumulator/drier and install four clamps starting with the connections followed by screwing the screws before installing the condenser to evaporator tube.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair the Standard A/C Hose from Condenser to Evaporator on Ford E-250 Econoline? Posted by Customer
    A:
Refrigerant recovery must occur first before the A/C condenser to evaporator line servicing and repairing process and the disconnecting of the battery ground cable. Remove the engine air cleaner before taking off the air cleaner outlet tube to move the compressor discharge line isolator by unscrewing its fastener. Manual service of the 4.2L engine mandates this step but other vehicles should follow by disconnecting the condenser core refrigerant lines by using wrenches on both fittings to avoid damage to the compressor discharge line and condenser to evaporator tube. To begin clearance of the A/C evaporator core fitting remove the screw while using a wrench on both fitting sides. You should then take off the condenser to evaporator tube. Service the new condenser to evaporator tube with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent WSH-M1C231-B complying Ford specification before routing the tube for installation. Apply the specified PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil to the new O-ring seals and put them in place before fitting and screwing the A/C evaporator core by using separate wrenches on each fitting side. The condenser core receiving and releasing lines need connection while new O-ring seals require lubrication prior to installation and then the condenser must connect to the tube running to the evaporator followed by the compressor discharge line using a wrench on each fitting. The compressor discharge line installation requires the screw and isolator following the 4.2L engine installations. Finish the installation by reconnecting the ground cable of the battery while also installing the engine air cleaner and air cleaner outlet tube and performing a system evacuation and charge.
