The windshield resealing process begins with removing the cowl vent grille and interior mirror followed by windshield side garnish mouldings and an overhead console and inside visors. Lower the front section of the headliner partially while blocking its exposed area with material that suits the application. Use an alcohol-free cleaner to clean all the edges created from the existing urethane and glass junctions around the tops and sides of the inside and the bottom of the outside windshield surface. A high-ratio electric or battery-operated caulk gun should be used with applicator tip specification to spread a continuous bead of urethane adhesive essex 400-HV onto the clean area while ensuring every gap in the urethane adhesive gets incorporated smoothly into the bead. After applying urethane perform backfill and remove all remaining urethane from the area. The urethane adhesive requires a one-hour curing period before conducting air or water leak tests. You can supplement with extra urethane adhesive if needed. The sun visors, overhead console, windshield side garnish mouldings, interior mirror and cowl vent grille should be reinstalled when the headliner or roof trim panel is repositioned. An alcohol-free cleaning solution should be used to clean the exterior and interior surfaces of the windshield glass before concluding.
