- Q: How to service the inner tie rod on 2007 Lincoln MKX?A: Removal of the steering gear to service the inner tie rod will require marking the pinion shaft. Disassemble the outer tie-rod end, tightening it at the time of re-assembly to 90 Nm. Take away both the bellows boots and the clamps to reach the inner tie-rod end and tighten it to 103 Nm when installing. Reinstall in reverse order.
