- Q:How to service the rear shock absorber safely and effectively on 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty?A:Position vehicle neutral on hoist; hold axle at rear. Take off and discard lower nut/bolt of shock; install new and tighten to 90 Nm (66 ft -lb). Take out and discard the upper nut; fit in new and tighten to 62 Nm (46 ft lb). Reverse removal. Do not heat shocks which are gas-pressurized. Exchange similar fasteners; observe torques.
