- Q: How to service the rear shock absorber on 2009 Mercury Mariner?A: Removal of rear quarter trim panel and wheel is required to service the rear shock absorber. Suspension: suspend, and change the upper shock nut and bushing and tighten with 40 Nm. Install the lower nut and install to 175 Nm tight.
