How to service and repair the headlamp dimmer switch on 2000 Ford Contour?

To remove the headlamp dimmer switch, remove the lower and upper shroud of the steering column first. Next, unplug the electrical connection (connectors) of the multifunction switch and unscrew the switch. Install the new switch in reverse of this.
