How to service and repair the front exterior door handle on 2000 Ford Contour?

In order to fix the handle of the front door, disconnection of battery and removal of trim panel and peeling of watershield will be required. Unscrew electrical connectors, disconnect, strip screws and separate the handle and latch assembly. Lastly, reverse installation, and fit the right parts in the installation and align properly before attaching them using the retaining clip.
