Begin by emptying the fuel tank before removing screws because any damage to the retainer ring could make the cap unable to get a secure seal. Raise the vehicle before you take off the LH rear wheel combined with the tire assembly. The fuel filler hose servicing requires disconnecting the vapor recirculation tube using a screw and dogpoint screw with its blunt end for optimal performance. Obtain clearance in the fuel tank by sliding the fuel tank filler pipe into position before rotating it counterclockwise by 1/2 turn to detach it while protecting both the grommet and check valve at the pipe end. To achieve removal clearance you should loosen the tank straps. The fuel tank filler pipe installation requires petroleum with Ford specifications ESW-M1C115-A and ESB-M1C99-A for end lubrication before reinserting into the fuel tank. First install the dogpoint screw then the screws while securing the strap which should attach at the 4:00 o'clock position. Attach the hose for vapor recirculation at the end.
