2000 Ford Expedition Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the radiator on 2000 Ford Expedition?
A: Service and repair work on the radiator requires you to start by removing the fan blade. The servicing process begins with disconnecting the transmission fluid cooler links through disconnection of upper and lower transmission fluid cooler disconnects. The radiator hose will disconnect from the radiator when you pop open the locking tab from its slot before rotating the hose and finally detaching it. The radiator removal starts with removing bolts but also requires removal of upper radiator support brackets and jack handle and wheel nut wrench retainers before lifting the radiator off the mounting insulators and removing those insulators. You should begin radiator installation by setting the mounting insulators first then positioning the radiator onto them. Begin with reattaching both the brackets and the jack handle and wheel nut wrench retainers before inserting the bolts. Secure the lower and upper radiator hoses through fitting the hose near the quick connect fitting while bending the locking tab inside the retaining slot. Reinstall the fan blade after connecting both lower and upper transmission fluid cooler lines.
