2001 Ford Expedition Radiator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair a radiator on 2001 Ford Expedition?
A: Service or repair operations on the radiator must start with fan blade removal. The service begins with the removal operation of transmission fluid cooler fittings through detachment of both upper and lower transmission fluid cooler fittings. First remove the lower radiator hose by using a metal tool to pull the locking tab out from the slot before rotating and unclipping it. The radiator removal process begins by removing these bolts followed by removing the upper radiator support brackets and jack handle as well as wheel nut wrench retainers then lifting the radiator off the mounting insulators before indirectly removing them. Instalment begins with radiator mounting insulators and ends with radiator placement on them. First install the bolts before reattaching the jack handle and wheel nut wrench retainers along with the brackets. Install the radiator hoses through quick connect fittings and fold the locking tabs into retaining slots on each side. Reinstall the fan blade after you connect both lower and upper transmission fluid cooler lines.
