2000 Ford F-150 ABS Control Module Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Bleed the Brake System After Installing a New ABS Control Module on 2000 Ford F-150?
A: The procedure starts by cleaning the area surrounding the brake master cylinder filler cap and then users should remove the cap to add approved DOT 3 brake fluid into the reservoir. Users must maintain a sufficient amount of fluid to stop the master cylinder from running dry during this procedure. A clear waste line should connect to the right-hand (RH) rear bleeder screw where its other end rests inside a container containing partly filled recommended brake fluid. Follow this step by letting an expert tighten the brake pedal while you close the RH rear bleeder screw after generating a fluid stream from it. Continue the procedure until fluid remains clear with no bubbles present then maintain the master cylinder reservoir with fresh fluid as needed. The waste line gets disconnected after the RH rear screw reaches its tight stance. Then follow with the LH rear screw and in succession bleed the RH and LH front caliper screws. Follow the scan tool instructions to connect its DCL cable adapter beneath the dash at the DLC port before performing the bleeding procedure again according to previous steps.
