    A: All servicing and repairing tasks for the accelerator pedal should start with pedal retention followed by disconnecting the accelerator cable from pedal and shaft connections. The first step requires removal of the throttle body inlet duct following which you must depress the tab to remove the accelerator control splash shield. First disconnect the accelerator cable pushpin from the dash panel stud followed by removal of the bolts until the cable can be pulled through the bulkhead. Start cable disconnect by rotating the lever forward before taking off the cable which was connected to the throttle body lever. You can remove the accelerator cable fully from the car by depressing its locking tabs. Installation of the component requires the exact opposite steps from the removal process.
