2000 Ford Focus Blower Motor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the blower motor on 2000 Ford Focus?
A: Service of the blower motor begins by taking away the lower footwell trim from the passenger side and then unplugging the ventilation hose at floor level. A person should disconnect the plug while also taking out the three screws to successfully remove the blower motor. The first step for installation includes removing the middle ventilation nozzle followed by opening the glove compartment. The heating system whistling should be prevented by setting the air distribution switch to "Head area" and operating the temperature control switch at "MAX cooling." The technician should unclip the duct for defrost air that directs to passengers and position it across the exposed glove compartment cover. Use side cutters to cut off the upper portion of the heater housing joining tang before snapping off the bottom part and disposing of it so parts remain in front of the fascia crash padding. To cover the heater housing gap you must first create a square piece of sealing tape that measures 50x50 mm and search for the opening inside the housing before fastening the tape onto the gap. Do this by applying force gently but steadily. Reassemble the components while keeping in mind the potential existence of sharp heater housing edges.
