Service and repair operations on the trunk or liftgate lock cylinder require starting with liftgate latch removal. After you file away part of the liftgate lock cylinder housing you need to remove the spring and plunger along with the spring before proceeding to extract the liftgate lock cylinder. To install proceed by cutting M6 threads into the lock cylinder housing with the M6 tap and afterward install the liftgate lock cylinder followed by the plunger. The plunger needs an M6 by 6.5 mm screw secured with Loctite sealer applied to the two top threads beneath the screw head. Reinstalle the liftgate latch followed by establishing the electrical connection of the liftgate latch and lastly install the liftgate trim panel.
