2000 Ford Mustang Brake Booster Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the vacuum brake booster on 2000 Ford Mustang?
A: The first step to work on a vacuum brake booster requires disconnecting the battery ground cable. The first step should be to remove the air cleaner housing followed by the brake master cylinder nuts then safely set the brake master cylinder to the side. Before disconnecting the booster vacuum hose you should release the accumulator pressure from the brake pedal by multiple depressions while the engine remains off. First remove the stoplight switch self-locking pin and then remove the stoplight switch followed by the brake booster push rod from the brake pedal pin. Finally disconnect the power brake booster through its appropriate nuts before removing the power brake booster unit. The installation process should follow the steps reversed from removal.
