2000 Ford Ranger ABS Control Module Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Bleed the Brake System After Installing a New ABS Control Module on 2000 Ford Ranger?
A: When bleeding a 4WABS brake system you should start by joining the NGS DCL cable adapter to the DLC located under the dash and then follow the NGS bleeding procedures. Wash the brake master cylinder filler cap before removing it to proceed with filling the reservoir with recommended brake fluid. Stick a clean drain hose to the right back bleeder screw and position its free end in proper brake fluid that reaches half the aperture of the container. The assistant must pump the brake pedal right after connecting to the NGS DLC cable under the dash. Begin by slowly opening the RH rear bleeder screw till brake fluid starts emerging before tightening while the assistant continues to keep pedal pressure. Continue the procedure by filling the brake master cylinder reservoir when needed until pure fluid with no bubbles appears. Proceed with tight closure of the bleeder screw then continue the sequence with the left-hand rear bleeder screw followed by the right-hand front bleeder screw and finally the left-hand front bleeder screw. The typical bleed process must be performed from each corner for a final time.
