2000 Lincoln Town Car A/C Accumulator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Accumulator on 2000 Lincoln Town Car?
A: The first step for servicing the HVAC accumulator requires complete refrigerant discharge along with recovery procedures. You must remove the evaporator to compressor connection of the suction accumulator/drier and then disconnect the suction accumulator/drier from the A/C evaporator core. A back up wrench should be used to protect both the fitting and the tube from damage while you remove them. Next users must remove the mounting bracket screw which keeps the A/C accumulator attached to the evaporator core before extracting the suction accumulator/drier. Take off the insulation cover from the suction accumulator/drier after detaching the mounting bracket of the A/C accumulator. The installation process requires performing the steps in the opposite order of removal. Mount the new suction accumulator/drier with the correct amount of PAG refrigerant compressor oil F7AZ-19589-DA or Motorcraft YN-12c which fulfills Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. Also apply PAG refrigerant compressor oil to the O-ring seal. back up wrenches should be used for fitting installation to protect both fitting and tube from damage.
