2000 Lincoln Town Car A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the A/C condenser core on 2000 Lincoln Town Car?
A: Before removing the A/C condenser core start by testing for leaks if any damage is expected. A technician needs to install a new suction accumulator/drier only when system contamination emerges from a broken A/C compressor or damaged suction accumulator/drier. The first step needs to be execution of the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure. The procedure starts by taking out both the battery and upper sight shield from the radiator. The A/C condenser core requires removal of both the condenser to evaporator tube connection and A/C compressor to condenser discharge line with peanut fittings using the connect and disconnect procedure. Remove first the bolts holding the radiator supports before taking out the two supplemental bolts. The A/C condenser core needs to be lifted out while tilting the radiator backward. The new A/C condenser core installation requires the reversal of removal steps while the correct amount of PAG compressor oil YN-12-C F7AZ-19589-DA or an equivalent that meets Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B must service the core. Also apply PAG compressor oil for lubricating the O-ring seal.
