Raise the vehicle before you detach its wheel and tire so you can access the lower control arm for service and repair work. Take out the brake caliper anchor bracket bolts to lift the caliper assembly with bracket away from the front brake disc. Secure the components aside before you remove the brake disc. Every vehicle has automatic gas-pressurized shock absorbers that extend freely; keep away from direct heat or burning when handling this part. Loosen both bolts that secure the front shock absorber to the lower suspension arm. Remove the shock absorber by taking off its retaining nut, washer, and grommet fitting. Check if the front suspension bumper needs replacement on the lower suspension arm. Twist the lower ball joint retaining nut one or two turns but leave it installed before freeing the ball joint from the front wheel spindle. Wrap the coil spring between the Coil Spring Compressor D78P-5310-A or similar model. Set the upper plate mid-spring with the ball cavity facing upward and place the lower plate as close to the spring bottom as possible with the ball cavity down. Place the threaded rod through support plates then put the upper ball between coils. Position the holes and assemble the pin. Turn the upper plate toward the top of the spring by threading the rod until the lower ball sinks into the support plate ball opening. Use a 1/2-inch wrench on the threaded rod and a 1.25-inch wrench on the barrel nut during compression of the spring till it starts to rotate. Free the lower suspension arm from the steering knuckle by removing its ball joint retaining nut. Place the discarded retaining nut aside. Lower the suspension arm after loosening its pivot nuts and bolts then disassemble the coil spring together with the compressor tool. Unfasten the lower suspension arm pivot bolts and nuts at their frame mounts then detach the arm from its crossmember position. Place the lower suspension arm into its frames and install the bolts loosely. Install the lower suspension arm parts by placing the coil spring and compressor in the arm, then raising the arm while fastening a new ball joint retaining nut with 174 Nm torque (128 ft. lbs.). Place the lower coil spring pigtail into the front spring insulator groove on the front lower suspension arm properly. Place the coil spring compressor on top and bottom to release the spring then fit and bolt the front suspension bumper with a torque setting of 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Insert the shock absorber inside the coil spring then attach its bolts and torque them to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.). Put on the grommet, washer, and nut to the front shock absorber top stud before installing the retaining nut and tightening it to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs). Link the brake disc securely using the M14x 2.0 x 3.1 mm bolt by placing the removal marks back in position. Install the brake caliper and anchor plate over the front brake disc then attach new bolts and tighten these bolts to 200 Nm (148 ft. lbs.). Lower the vehicle onto the wheels then set tire height at normal curb position before tightening front lower suspension bolts to 174 Nm. Adjust caster camber and toe when necessary.
