To service the Idle Control Valve, disconnect the battery ground, the accelerator control snow shield and disconnect the electrical connector of the valve. Leave the old gasket and remove the valve, then repeat the process of installing it, with a new gasket. This is done with 4.0L SOHC and push rod engines.
