    A: The first step to perform evaporator core repairs without auxiliary climate control is to disconnect the battery ground cable. Perform a leak test on the evaporator core before removing it when a leakage is suspected. You need to remove the suction accumulator/drier while positioning the vapor management valve bracket after unscrewing the nuts. The A/C evaporator core should then be separated from the condenser to evaporator tube by performing spring lock coupling disconnect and connect procedures. After unscrewing 11 fasteners you can free 3 retaining tabs to extract the evaporator core by taking off its cover. The last step includes vacating the system while performing leak testing after it reaches the proper working pressure.
