2001 Ford Excursion A/C Condenser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C condenser on 2001 Ford Excursion?
A: The A/C condenser requires that the battery ground cable needs to be disconnected first before any servicing or repair work. An A/C condenser core leak requires leak-testing as the first step before you perform its removal. You need to execute the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure at this time. First disconnect the A/C condenser core inlet and outlet lines after pulling out all 8 pushpins and the sight shield. The service requires taking out the RH and LR grille supports by removing their screws while marking the hood latch position for correct alignment later. You must detach the RH and LH A/C condenser core mounting brackets by unscrewing them before lifting out the core from the vehicle. Return the removal order to install the new A/C condenser but use the appropriate PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) to serve the unit properly. This oil should follow Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. After adding the oil, seal the O-ring components using the same PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil.
