How to service and repair the brake caliper on 2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty?

Start brake caliper servicing by removing disc brakes along with handling the used brake fluid. Insufficient breathing pressure through the fluid port should be used while wedging wood beneath the caliper bridge next to the pistons to push them away. After extending the pistons remove both blocks of wood while then removing the pistons together with their seals and boots using the piston boot retainer followed by discarding the old piston boots and seals. The caliper reservoir should not undergo any honing procedure since pistons are unavailable for the honed bores while excessively damaged caliper bores demand complete caliper replacement. In the assembly process both piston seals and dust boots must be replaced new and you should never reinstall drained brake fluid. Use clean High Performance DOT 3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AB that meets Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A or equivalent fluid for lubricating the piston boot along with the caliper piston and piston seal and caliper bores. First follow the caution to prevent piston cocking then set the boot inside the bore and push the caliper piston into the bore before adding the piston boot retainer. Install the caliper as the last step before completion.
