How to service and repair the hood latch on 2001 Lincoln Navigator?

In order to service the hood latch, lift the hood and un-hook the release handle and cable. To get the latch out, unscrew the bolts and disconnect the cable. Install new latch, re-connect cable and tighten with fingers. Properly align and lubricate with Multi- Purpose Grease where necessary before fully tightening.
