How to service and repair the axle shaft on 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis?

In order to service the axle shaft, loosen lug nuts, take off the center cap and air suspension should be turned off. Lift the car, take off the back tire and empty the differential casing. Components should be carefully removed, the differential pinion shaft taken out and put back. Grease seals, fit axle shaft and reassemble.
