How to Service and Repair the Power Mirror Actuator on 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis?

Start the repair process of the power mirror motor by taking out the exterior rear view mirror. Pull the exterior rear view mirror glass towards maximum travel by pushing its top edge before slowly drawing the glass out to remove it. Remove first the screws fastening the exterior rear view mirror motor and then carefully remove the motor while keeping records of connector color and position before removal. Reinstall the components by performing the reverse of the removal steps.
