You should fix the caliper in a vise after you place a wood block between the caliper bridge and piston before applying low air pressure to the fluid port for piston removal. The piston seals and dust boots should be thrown away before disposing of the caliper bores since honing is not necessary for caliper pistons which are not available for the units. The front disc brake calipers need new caliper seal kits but if the caliper bores show damage then replace the complete front disc brake caliper unit. Vehicle assembly requires new piston seals and dust boots together with fresh brake fluid that should be DOT 3 or DOT 4 meeting Ford specification SAEJ1704 unless DOT 3 is unobtainable. Insert the caliper piston seal together with the dust boot into the caliper bore using High Performance DOT 3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AB or a DOT 3 equivalent which meets Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A. Factory workers should apply the specified lubricant to all components during installation. Press the caliper piston again into the caliper bore while maintaining equal pressure until proper alignment occurs.
