How to service the EGR valve on 2001 Mercury Sable?

To service EGR valve, disconnect the vacuum line and the EGR tube and then remove the valve discarding the gaskets. Installing is the same operation in reverse, and all the sealing surfaces need to be cleaned and new gaskets installed as sealing surfaces are of soft metal.
