2001 Mercury Villager A/C Hose Parts Q&A
Q: How to service the front auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet A/C Hose on 2001 Mercury Villager?
A: Service of front auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet line requires starting with the refrigerant discharging and recovery procedure. Apply jack support under the vehicle while you move the torsion bar away from the area then remove its attached bolts. You must lower the control arm frame mounting bracket through the step of loosening and removing the bolts. Before disconnecting the peanut fittings users should plug all ports with protective stoppers to avoid dirt and moisture contamination. Following is bracket removal of auxiliary A/C inlet and outlet lines through the removal of screws and the bracket piece itself. The technician should disconnect the auxiliary A/C suction accumulator line nut while lowering the vehicle before plugging all ports to avoid contamination. The procedure requires dissassembling the bolts securing the A/C hose bracket and the bolts securing the upper A/C evaporator tube support bracket and lower A/C evaporator tube support bracket and finally the A/C tube support bracket nut. Complete the removal of auxiliary A/C evaporator inlet and outlet lines by plugging every port to avoid contamination. Install the component by following the removal steps in reverse order while using PAG Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (MC YN-12b) that satisfies Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B as a lubricant for new O-ring seals.
