How to Bleed the Brake System After Installing a New ABS Control Module on 2002 Ford Explorer?

Start the bleed procedure for the brake system after installing a new Four Wheel Anti-Lock Brake System (4WABS) Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) by plugging the scan tool DCL cable adapter to the vehicle data link connector (DLC) found under the dash then perform the bleeding instructions provided by the scan tool. Wash and clean the brake master cylinder filler cap before adding DOT 3 brake fluid to the reservoir while preventing it from running dry. Through a clear drain tube you will connect to the right-hand (RH) rear bleeder screw and place the opposite end inside a container that contains recommended brake fluid at the appropriate level. The RH rear bleeder screw should be opened until transparent brake fluid with no bubbles appears before tightening it under continued pressure from the assistant. Top up the brake master cylinder reservoir only when needed during this process. The complete bleeding process should be repeated until the system is free from all air bubbles.
