How to Service and Repair the Rear Brake Disc on 2002 Ford Explorer?

When servicing brake rotor/disc start by taking out the rear disc brake caliper while protecting the flexible brake hose from suspension. There is no requirement to detach the hydraulic lines for removing the rear brake disc. The hub-mount brake lathe should be used to machine the rear brake disc after disc removal. Resurfacing becomes necessary in both cases where vehicular steering wheel or seat or brake pedal vibrations become noticeable during braking operations and whenever brake pads wear resulting in severe scoring of the brake discs. When measuring the rear brake disc check if resurfacing is needed; lack of measurement compliance requires installing a new rear brake disc. To complete the repair it is necessary to reverse the components installation process as described for removal.
